Third-party notices

Bookmark Maestro ships other people's work in two places — the Chrome extension's zip on the Web Store, and the JavaScript and webfonts bookmark-maestro.com sends to a visitor's browser. This file is the single source of truth for what that work is and under which licence it travels: the extension build copies this exact file into every production artifact (apps/extension/scripts/copy-notices.mjs), and /licenses on the site renders this same file as the page you may be reading it on. Rendered, not retyped: the headings and tables below become headings and tables, and every licence text is a fenced block, which is what keeps the part that must be word-for-word word-for-word.

None of this is optional politeness. Every licence involved — MIT, Apache 2.0, ISC, the 3-clause BSD licence, the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and the SIL Open Font License — makes passing the notice on a condition of redistribution, and this repo redistributes to two audiences at once.

The test for what belongs here is "do these bytes leave our machines", not "is there a zip". §3 is the other side of that test: the server-only half of apps/home runs in our own container and is never handed to anyone, so it is listed as excluded rather than silently missing.

1. Compiled into the extension zip

Everything in apps/extension's dependencies is bundled by WXT into the package uploaded to the Chrome Web Store, so all of it is redistributed — plus WXT's own small runtime snippets that the bundler compiles in. Most is MIT (full text in §4.1); the three that are not are called out in their own rows.

dexie ships a NOTICE file, and Apache-2.0 §4(d) makes passing its contents on a condition of redistribution. Reproduced in full:

MPL is file-level: it covers that one file, which remains available in source form at the URL above; it imposes nothing on the rest of this repo.

What is not anyone else's and carries no obligation here: everything under apps/extension/src, apps/home/src and packages/core — except the one vendored Brave data file just named. Bookmarks themselves never leave the device — the extension reads them through chrome.bookmarks and stores its own data in IndexedDB.

2. Sent to a visitor's browser by the site

bookmark-maestro.com renders on the server, but its interactive parts are React components, so Next.js ships their libraries to every visitor. Two are not MIT: lucide-react and next-auth are ISC (§4.3), and class-variance-authority and @vercel/speed-insights are Apache-2.0 (§4.2).

The site's /tools/url-cleaner page also ships the vendored Brave rules file named in §1 (packages/core/src/url-clean/brave-rules.js, MPL-2.0, §4.6) to the browser — same file, same notice, second audience.

The last four rows reach the browser through @jun/site-kit's account and admin surfaces rather than through this repo's own imports. The kit itself declares no dependencies of its own — every one of them is a peer satisfied from apps/home's list above — and it ships to the browser all the same, which is the only test that matters here.

The three families the site loads

(Each line is the name table's copyright record read out of the woff2 next/font serves — the variable Plex Sans build says 2019 where the static Plex Mono instances say 2017, and the binary is the authority, not upstream's LICENSE header and not memory: the first draft of this section said Literata 2015.)

apps/home loads IBM Plex Sans (chrome and body copy), IBM Plex Mono (figures) and Literata (headings and the wordmark) through next/font/google — deft-foundry's trio, since 2026-09-02; the extension keeps its own two bundled faces (§1). next/font fetches the files at build time and emits them into .next/static/media/*.woff2 — so they are served from bookmark-maestro.com rather than from Google's CDN. That is redistribution of the binaries, and the OFL requires the notice to travel with them.

No font binary is committed to this repo.

3. What is deliberately NOT here

The rest of apps/home's dependencies run server-side only, inside our own container: stripe, postgres, drizzle-orm, @auth/drizzle-adapter, pino, dotenv, next-mdx-remote, @next/mdx, @mdx-js/loader, @mdx-js/react, remark-gfm, and the four packages that render this file into the page you are reading — unified, remark-parse, remark-rehype and rehype-stringify (all MIT, apps/home/src/lib/markdown.js). Those four are stricter than server-side: they run at BUILD time and what ships is their output, plain HTML. Running software as a network service is not distributing it under any of their licences (none is AGPL), so no notice is owed and listing them here would blur the line this file is drawn on. The same goes for every build- and test-time dependency — eslint, prettier, vitest, Playwright, drizzle-kit — none of which reaches anyone's machine.

next-mdx-remote is MPL-2.0 and is the one worth naming explicitly: MPL's copyleft is triggered by distributing source or executables, not by answering HTTP with the output. It renders blog posts on the server and no part of it is sent to the browser. If that ever changes, it moves to §2 and its licence text comes with it.
